MICRO-SKIN NEEDLING

These micro-channels also carry your tailored serum (chosen to help correct your specific skin concern and applied to the skin during the needling) deep into the skin, increasing its effectiveness and delivering nourishing nutrients.

Contraindications;

​

• Papulopustular rosacea

• Acne vulgaris stage III-IV

• Herpes simplex

• Warts

• Scleroderma

• Bacterial/fungal infections

• Open lesions

• Solar keratosis

• Skin cancer

• Hemophilia

• Pregnancy

• For tanned to dark complexions or skins prone to post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, it is recommended to use a melanin inhibiting skin regime for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. 

• Avoid makeup before your treatment. (this is not mandatory) 

• Avoid sun exposure 5 days before treatment (do not come in with sunburn)

• If you are prone to herpes simplex (cold sores), it is recommended to take or apply a targeted prophylaxis, such as acyclovir, to prevent a possible outbreak.

• A Cosmedical sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater should be used on any area of sun-exposed skin, which you plan to treat.

• During the skin healing process, minor itching, hives, flaking, or redness may appear. If symptoms persist, please call your practitioner.

• Do not pick, squeeze or agitate during the recovery period.

-- Please avoid the following activities for up to 2 days following.

•  Direct ultra violet exposure (sun and solariums)

• Intensive cardio, exercise or gymnasium regimens .

• Excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or sauna

• Spray or self-tanning. 

• Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean.

• Tattooing (including cosmetic tattooing)

• Further clinical treatments should be avoided for at least 2 weeks after.

• Pigmentation may be treated resulting in the darkening of spots (which will lighten and brighten your skin after a week)

• Do not apply makeup up for 24 hours.

• Do NOT touch your treated skin for 24 hours.

• Replace your pillow case for a clean one.

• You want to treat the area as though it is an open wound (keep clean).

• Avoid sun exposure to treated areas. Apply a sun block with SPF30 or greater daily to sun-exposed treated areas between treatments and for 4-6 weeks after last treatment.

• No strongly scented lotions or soaps.

• No exfoliation to treated areas during healing phase.

• Best results are obtained on clients who have follow up treatments. Your technician will advise when you should schedule your next appointment. It is important to adhere to this regime.

• Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) (including but not limited to) glycolic, lactic or malic acid

• Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) including salicylic acid

• Benzoyl peroxide

• Retinoids (including but not limited to) tretinoin, retinol and retinaldehyde

• Hydroquinone

• High levels of Kojic or azelaic acid

• Alcohol (including but not limited to) isopropyl alcohol/de-natured alcohol/rubbing alcohol
